Floral Shadowbox

I am doing something different today, a really cool style of card that I have started making and can't stop!! It's a Shadowbox Card.  It has a cool 3D look which I think has a lot of WOW power.  The best part is the card is really simple to make and fits into an envelop with ease!

I chose Fabulous Florets for this card, but the new Secret Garden Bundle would be perfect for this!  The back piece of the card is in Certainly Celery and the front is So Saffron.  The Certainly Celery is embossed with the Vine Street EF from the Sale-a-bration catalog. The So Saffron CS is stamped on with So Saffron with the stamp of leaves and flower for a subtle addition of color.  I die cut the center of the So Saffron with the Labels framelit for the window.  Let me give you a closer look at the card.

In this picture you can see a little of the Vine street embossing on the Certainly Celery.  I stamped the larger image of leaves with a flower on the Whisper White Label Framelit in Certainly Celery, stamping off first so the image would be lighter.  The flowers are stamped with Staz On Black onto Glossy Card Stock.  I like to color with markers on the Glossy CS better than any paper because your marker strokes look blended instead of absorbing into the paper and leaving lines as you color.  I actually used my aqua painter to add a light layer of So Saffron then added in Daffodil Delight marker for a darker yellow followed by a bit of Pumpkin Pie maker in the center.  I hand cut the flowers then added them to the card with dimensionals.  The flower inside the card was also stamped on Glossy CS and cut out then added to the CS with a dimensional.  Here is a top view of the card.

This view really shows the embossing and you can see that the flower inside is popped up with a dimensional. It was a really fun card to make.  I made it especially for my long time customer and friend Jackie who is having a workshop this weekend.  She liked the look of a shadowbox card so I am going to teach her and her guests how to make it!

Thanks for stopping by!  Tomorrow I have another shadowbox card to share that I made for the LNS weekly Challenge, so come back!!

If it doesn't move..stamp it!!
