A Double Flashback Friday

Today's card for Flashback Friday was made with not one but TWO flashback stamp sets.  First set is Nature Sketchbook, a Level 3 hostess set from the 2003-2004 Idea book and Catalog.  Second set is Basket of Kindness, a Level 3 hostess set from the 2002-2003 Idea Book and Catalog.

Here is the fun pop up card I created using these two sets and some punches.  First the outside of the card.

And then the inside of the pop up card.

Let's talk about the outside first.  I used Nature Sketchbook for the focal point on the card front.  The strawberries were stamped with StazOn Black ink on Glossy White CS.  I cut them out with a Lables Framelit.  Let's look at it closer.

First, the base CS is Crumb Cake embossed with the Honeycomb EF to look a bit like a basket.  I used a doily (yes, again!) in the center of the card to build my focal point on.  To make the strawberries stand out a bit better, I adhered the label die cut to Real Red CS and cut around to give a very slender frame of red around the strawberries.  I water colored the berries with an Aqua painter and re-inkers.  I added in shading with markers then blended the colors again with my Aqua painter.  To give dimension, I used leaves from the bird punch and flowers from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack to add in strawberry blossoms.

Now a closer look at the inside where the real magic happens!!

I first die cut the pop up piece out of retired DSP.  I used a So Saffron DSP design to bring out the center of the strawberry blossoms.  The basket from Basket of Kindness was stamped with StazOn Black on Glossy CS and cut out by hand after it was water colored.

I die cut hearts for the strawberries using the small heart framelit from the Hearts a Flutter Framelits.  I punched out a couple small hearts with the small heart punch, then embossed all the hearts together using the Perfect Polka Dots EF.  I used a small flower from the Boho Blossoms punch to make the leaves on the strawberries.  I layered the berries in the basket with dimensionals.  A couple leaves were added in and of course a bunch of blossoms.  I stamped the birthday greeting from Perfectly Penned and hand cut it out to adhere above the basket with dimensionals.

The greeting on the bottom is from SAB set Vintage Verses stamped in Soft Suede on Whisper White CS and die cut with a Labels Framelit.  I added in a small strawberry, leaves, and blossoms.

And so you have a fun pop up birthday card that gives two retired sets a more modern look by adding in new products.  I had so much fun making this card, I am pleased that it came out as I envisioned it!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Tomorrow is See it Again Saturday, so stop back to see a re-make of a layout recently featured on the blog.

If it doesn't move...stamp it!!
