Rev Up the Fun!

Today I have a really fun card to share using Rev Up the Fun from the new catalog.  This card was designed for a very special reason....I am a Guest Designer for the Create with Connie and Mary Summer Collection 2013!  How cool is that!!  I have been designing a card for Create with Connie and Mary each week as a Thursday Challenge Team member and I just love it!  Now I get the chance to design more than a card...I have a very fun 3D project that I have designed exclusively for this Summer Collection.  First let me go ahead and show you today's card, then I will fill you in on all the details about the Summer Collection.

Here is my rev'd up birthday pop up card.

I think this stamp set if so much fun!  For this card I used the race car.  I picked bold colors, Real Red, Pacific Point, Basic Black, Smokey Slate, Basic Gray, and Whisper White.  The front of the card is two die cut circles using the new framelits, one with the focal point and one to accent it.  I liked the idea of an off set matting instead of the typical layering.  I added in tire tracks and arrows on the card base.  The arrow comes from Designer Type, the first Photopolymer set to be released.

Let's check out the inside closer. The top inside of the card has a chalkboard for the birthday greeting.

For the border of the chalkboard I used the arrows from Photopolymer set Show and Tell #1.  The banner in the center is from the same set.  I added in the birthday greeting from Rev Up the Fun.  Let me show you how I isolated the two words I needed to have placed in the banners.

I placed scotch tape over the words I didn't need stamped.  I tap the stamp on my ink pad just like that, then remove the tape and stamp the only thing (s) I have ink on.  Since I was embossing with white embossing powder for the chalkboard technique, I embossed each word as I went along.  I didn't want to take the chance of smudging the powder off the words when stamping.  Now on to the bottom of the pop up.

This part of the card mirrors the front a bit.  I used circles off set again, this time  Pacific Point is my base layer.  The greeting from Rev Up the Fun is stamped using Pacific Point ink to make it really stand out.  More arrows from Designer Type finish off the look.  Here's a better side view to show the pop us better.

I used the Dress Form pop up die for this card.  You can do other things besides just a dress!  I simply attached my chalkboard to the dress.  Easy as pie!  OK, now let's talk about the Summer Collection 2013!!
