Hexagons for Baby

Today's card is all about hexagons and soft colors for baby.  Yesterday we got a peek at the most famous baby in the world and I was inspired to create a baby boy card.   I love the Six-Sided Sampler for it's versatility, so it is my go to stamp set.  Lots of patterns can be created, here is today's.

Isn't this a sweet card??  I paired Soft Sky with Crumb Cake, perfect for a brand new baby boy.  Here's the details:

1.  Chose my colors, Soft Sky is the base card.

2.  Stamped on Whisper White all the hexagons I wanted.  I went with three different hexagons.  Each was stamped in a different color:  Soft Sky, Crumb Cake , and Smokey Slate.  I punched all my hexagons out and decided on a pattern.

3.  Once my pattern was figured out, I glued the hexagons to Whisper White and trimmed the sides that were hanging over.  The white cs was cut at 3 1/8" x 4 1/8".  The reason I went through all the trouble to stamp and punch instead of direct stamping is two fold.  First, I had a heck of a time trying to get the pattern perfect and got tired of trying after three attempts.  Second, it gave me the opportunity to play around with how the design looked.  I tried it a few different ways before gluing them down.

4.  I adhered my pattern of hexagons to a piece of Crumb Cake measuring 3 1/4" x 4 1/4".  I cut a long piece of Pool Party Seam Binding and tied a bow.

5.  Stamped a sentiment from the new hostess set Express Yourself in Basic Gray and die cut it with the large framelit from Bitty Banners.  Then attached it with dimensionals.

And that's it! My baby card inspired by the Baby Prince.  I hope you liked my card, I am loving the color combo of Soft Sky and Crumb Cake with the two grays Smokey Slate and Basic Gray.

Thanks for visiting!!  Come back tomorrow for my Thursday challenge card for Create with Connie and Mary.

If it doesn't move...stamp it!!

This is adorable! I have been on the fence about the Six-Sided Sampler, but this has decided it - I have to have it!
