Flashback Friday: Sparkling Summer

Welcome to this week's Flashback Friday!!  Today we are flashing back to 2004 for the fun set Sparkling Summer.

I think this is such a cute summer stamp set!  I thought now is the perfect time to pull it off the shelf and do a little stamping.  Here's the card I came up with.

I am still into the clean and simple cards.  I am liking the look of a simple white circle with an image and no matting.  For this card it works well since the background is a soft color, Soft Sky.  I added in Baked Brown Sugar for contrast and the flip flops on the side balance things out.  I stamped the images on Glossy White (still bummed about it retiring) and colored them in with blender pens off my ink pads.  It took me a minute to figure out a sentiment for this card.  I ended up using Happy Retirement from Teeny Tiny Wishes, seemed perfect for a beach chair card!

Thanks for checking out my flashback card for this week!  I have a group a ladies that are going to be joining me for a Flashback Friday blog hop in the near future, these flashbacks have become quite popular!

If it doesn't move...stamp it!!

I love (and appreciate) clean and simple cards.. I have a hard time with them because I always want to add more. This is a very cute card, I love how the flip flops balance out the banners!

Nicole, I have asolutely loved your Flashback Friday cards! I have a bunch of old retired Stampin' Up sets that are wonderful and I have forgotten all about them. You have made me take a new fresh look at them! Thank-you!

I was hoping someone would do this flashback since SU is celebrating 25 yrs. I think one week it should also include who uses the oldest stamp set. Love it Nicole, genius girl just genius.
