Oh Happy Day!

It's Monday and time for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge.  Let's take a look at the fun sketch that Mary Jo has for us this week.

I used Hello Love for my card with the All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack as my inspiration.

I love this new paper stack, the designs are so pretty!  I based my colors on the first design I picked, the pale yellow with flowers.  From there I picked out two coordinating designs for the banners.

The focal point started out on a circle of Pistachio Pudding.  The bird from Hello Love was stamped with Memento Black ink on the circle plus a piece of Whisper White.  I colored the body of the white bird with Blendabilities then cut it out.  I glued it onto the bird stamped on Pistachio then moved on to the sentiment.  I wanted the bird to be tweeting something, so I used a Word Bubble Framelit to stamp the sentiment on.

I love how soft and pretty this card turned out, the floral paper and the blues are just wonderful!

I hope you will join us for the challenge this week! Just go to Technostamper for all the details plus more great cards from the Design Team.

Happy Birthday Sunshine

Ray of Sunshine is quickly becoming a favorite set of mine.  I used it for today's card for the Creative Challenge Club sketch.  First, let's check out the sketch for this week.

And here is my Ray of Sunshine card.

Isn't this set just a perfect fit for this week's sketch?!  I have always loved anything to do with the sun and moon, so this set really drew me in.  The sun's face is so warm and inviting!

I started out with Sweet Taffy DSP for the background and built from there.  The next layer was Coastal Cabana with stars from Something to Say stamped on it.  Then I added in clouds. The first two were made with the Cupcake Builder Punch.  The last was self made.  I stamped the sentiment then cut around it for a custom shaped cloud.

Finally, I built the sun out of several layers.  First, I stamped a circle of Daffodil Delight on Whisper White paper.  The face was stamped next using Hello Honey.  These two colors are absolutely PERFECT for the sun!  Next, I stamped banners, Hello Honey on Daffodil Delight cardstock.  I punched then all out and arranged then around the sun.  Lastly, I punched Gold Glimmer Paper banners and added those to the sun.  Once assembled, I added the sun to the card with several dimensionals.

This turned out to be such a happy card!  It makes me smile every time I look at it :)  So, now it's your turn!  Get out your stampin' supplies and make a card with us!  Just go to Creative Challenge Club for all the details plus more great samples from the Design Team.

Summer Saturday Challenge

Well, week one of the Create with Connie and Mary Summer Collection 2014 has gone by in a flash!  I love all the fantastic projects, especially since they all feature new products!  To find out more about the collection, visit Create with Connie and Mary.

Each Saturday during the collection we have a challenge card that we post for everyone to see.   Here's the sketch for this week.

Since I used Age Awareness for my project this week, I made today's card with it as well.

I have to say,  I was not sure about the Photopymer stamps when they first came out.  BUT, now I just LOVE THEM!!  I am really happy that Stampin' Up! has put some in the new catalog since they are so easy to work with.  Age Awareness is such a great set that I have yet to take it off my desk!

My inspiration for this card was the new Park Lane Designer Series Paper.  I used the polka dot design for my first layer.  Then added in a second layer of polka dots with the Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder.

The sentiment is stamped with Blackberry Bliss on the yellow design from the DSP.  This is where the photopoymer stamps come in handy.  I was able to line up the two parts of the sentiment without using my Stamp-a-Majig!

Next, I added a flower made with several punches, all are listed below in my supplies.

Supply List:
Stamps:  Age Awareness
Paper:  Daffodil Delight, Blackberry Bliss, Park Lane Designer Series Paper
Ink:  Blackberry Bliss
Accessories:  Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder, Crushed Curry Baker's Twine,  1 1/4" Scallop Circle Punch, Petite Petals Punch, Itty Bitty Accessory Punch Pack, Hexagon Punch (makes the banner edge), Rhinestones, Daffodil Delight Blendabilities (to color the rhinestone)

I hope you will pull out your stamps and inks to play along with us!  For more details and samples from the Design Team, just go to Create with Connie and Mary.
